My father adopted Michelle when she was a little girl. So sweet, so innocent, so beautiful. She was a joy to all who encountered her.
But Michelle got caught by the lure of substance use. She died from an overdose in 2010 - another statistic in the substance use epidemic. Right? Wrong! Michelle was a sister, a daughter, a granddaughter, a friend.
Too many times, I have been told that we need to wait until an adolescent is 18 before we help them find freedom from their substance use. 18 is too late!
Sozo Chaya, Inc.'s vision is to transform the lives of adolescents and their families by helping them create safer, healthier, and better lives for themselves and their communities. Sozo Chaya, Inc. is committed to helping adolescents find freedom from substance use and discover their God-given talents and purposes.
Your tax deductible donation helps Sozo Chaya, Inc. open faith-centered, evidence-based adolescent treatment centers. We are currently raising funds to open our pilot outpatient program for 12-to-18-year-olds. You can donate by clicking the "Donate" button on our website, via PayPal or Zell, at GoFundMe, or by mailing your check or money order to Sozo Chaya, Inc., PO Box 30065, Myrtle Beach, SC 29588.
With the pilot outpatient program, we will be able to:
> Provide a safe environment for adolescents (12-18-year-olds) to seek help and start their journeys to recovery.
> Create unique topic specific, age appropriate programs that help teens in recovery heal from their hurts and hangups, learn better coping skills, build healthier relationships, and find freedom from substance use.
> Support families looking for ways to help their teen find freedom from substance use and their families to be healthy and strong.
Your donation helps an adolescent find hope and healing - to be whole and well. Your donation makes a positive difference in a young life! Thank you!
